ROW, ROW, ROW YOUR RAFT

Updated: May 23, 2019

14 scouts took to the Deerfield river this weekend for a leisurely (Ahem) 10 mile raft ride. Stopping off for a meadow lunch followed by a few grade 2 and 3 rapids. There was even enough time to stage a pitched raft raid, involving paddle splashing and a few healthy buckets of icy cold river water!

Then onto a much calmer riverside campground where the boys cooked up hot dogs, played some games and chatted around an open fire. We also learned what happens when you roast a Gummy Bear - Who knew?!

The weather stayed bright and sunny right up until we packed up camp, when the heavens opened. But by that time we were all nice and dry in the car on our way home.
